Call of Duty is gearing up for its midseason update everywhere from Black Ops Cold War to Warzone. But today, nearly a week before the update is set to go live, Treyarch has given fans a preview of what’s coming to Zombies mode on May 20. Among the highlights in the announcement are the main quest finally arriving in Outbreak mode, an update on when to expect the new round-based map, and ... fishing?

The biggest Zombies updates are coming to Outbreak, the open-world mode that takes place on a massive map. The biggest change is the addition of the mode’s main quest and traditional Zombies Easter egg. While the mode has been out for a few months, the quest will only be added on May 20, which Treyarch did so that players could have plenty of time to explore the map rather than just focusing on the quest.
Another unique feature of this main quest is that what’s being added on May 20 is only the first section of it. The quest will start in season 3, but then it will actually continue into season 4 leading up to the release of Zombies’ newest round-based map, according to Treyarch’s Zombies blog.
The first main quest isn’t the only thing that Outbreak is getting in the new update. The mode is also getting fishing. Unfortunately, Treyarch left us with only a teaser announcement that fishing is coming and didn’t explain anything else about it. It’s possible it could be a new way to get items or gear, and it’s almost certain to be used as part of the main quest, but there’s no way to know until the feature officially arrives.
The new update for Zombies, which will also arrives for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, is scheduled to go live on May 20. Along with the additions to Outbreak, the patch will also adjust which weapons are in mystery boxes in regular maps and Outbreak, bring changes to Dead Ops Arcade, and likely adjust weapon balance.
